Privacy Policy
Last updated 11 October 2026
One Quick Try is built to need very little information about you. This page explains exactly what it collects, why, and the choices you have.
The short version
- There are no accounts, no sign-up forms and no logins.
- Your challenge results are calculated in your browser and aren't stored on our server.
- We use Google Analytics to see which pages and challenges get used, only if you agree. If you decline, it isn't loaded at all.
- We don't show advertising at the moment, and we don't sell personal information.
Who we are
One Quick Try (onequicktry.com) is run by One Quick Try, based in India. "We" and "us" in this policy mean the people who run the site. You can reach us at onequicktry@gmail.com.
Your challenge results
Every challenge runs in your browser, and your result is worked out on your device. We don't keep a copy: when you leave or reload the page, the result is gone. There is no score history and nothing is linked to you. The only exception is the anonymous analytics event described below, which is sent only if you accept analytics.
What our server receives
Like any website, our server receives the technical details of each request in order to send the page back: your IP address, the page requested, and your browser's user agent. We don't keep access logs of these requests and don't use them to identify anyone.
The site is hosted by Hostinger in the United States (Phoenix), which processes this traffic on our behalf.
Analytics (Google Analytics), with your consent
On your first visit we ask whether we may use Google Analytics. Until you answer, and if you decline, the Google Analytics script isn't loaded, no request is made to Google and no analytics cookie is set.
If you accept, Google Analytics 4 records, for each visit:
- the pages you view and the site or search that brought you here;
- challenge events: that you viewed, started, retried or finished a challenge, the result number (for example a reaction time in milliseconds), and which related challenge you clicked;
- general device details such as device type, browser and screen size;
- an approximate location (country and city) that Google derives from your IP address.
Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (named _ga and _ga_…) to recognise returning visits. It does not store your IP address. We use the reports to understand which challenges are useful and what to build next, never to identify individual visitors. Analytics data is kept for the retention period set in our Google Analytics account, at most 14 months.
Google acts as a service provider for this. Because Google is based in the United States, analytics data may be processed there. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Changing your choice
You can change your mind at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. That clears your earlier answer, stops analytics for the rest of the visit, and asks again. You can also delete the site's cookies and storage in your browser settings.
What we store in your browser
Two preferences, saved in your browser's local storage:
- your analytics choice, under the name
oqt.analytics-consent, so we don't ask again on every page; - the light or dark theme, under the name
oqt.theme, but only if you pick one with the switch at the top of the page. Until then the site follows your device's setting and saves nothing.
Neither ever leaves your device. If you accepted analytics, Google Analytics' cookies are stored too, as described above.
Advertising
The site doesn't show ads at the moment. If we introduce advertising in the future, we will update this policy before any ads appear, explain what the advertising provider collects, and ask for consent where the law requires it.
Children
One Quick Try is a general-audience site and isn't directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children, and the site has no way to submit any.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information about you, to object to its use, or to withdraw consent. Because we hold no accounts and no stored results, we usually hold nothing that identifies you. For anything about analytics data, write to us at onequicktry@gmail.com and we will help as far as we can. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the site handles information, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect. Read with our Terms of Use.
